D2L Talk: Mining D2L Data

Happy Monday, and welcome to the inaugural D2L Talk post! On future Mondays, when you’re waiting for your coffee to brew to shock you back into post-weekend reality, stop by the CET blog to check in on some tips and tricks for making our learning management system work for you.

I’m also hoping to feature the fantastic work that COE faculty do using D2L, so if you’re doing something snazzy, you’ll likely be hearing from me. We truly have some all-stars as part of our team, and I’d like to mine all of your great ideas for others to use.

To get us started for Autumn quarter (eek – it is upon us!), I thought it would be helpful to share some methods for finding and using data that D2L can provide to you. By using the Statistics and Reports options in D2L, you can find some great information about how your students are using your D2L course.

This screencast shows you how to use these options in four tools: Classlist, Content, Discussions, and Quizzes. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how you can find and apply the data that D2L provides to you.
